To decode an entire url, you can use `require('url').parse(myUrlString)`

On the browser, you can do almost the same thing with an `a` element:

var a = document.createElement('a')
a.href = 'http://izs.me/pa/th?query=string#hash'
console.log([a.protocol, a.host, a.hostname, a.pathname, a.search, a.hash])

["http:", "izs.me", "izs.me", "/pa/th", "?query=string", "#hash"]
