didn't know that too! 1. Probably npm could auto include a licence file according to the package.json information before gzipping it 2. Npm could reject publishing a package if there is a licence in the package.json, but no licence file
This would solve the problem very quickly for actively developed modules. I like the 2. option even more because hopefully users will push the licence file to the repo too. @isaacs wdyt?
