Are you looking to get the most recent stable version, like 10.3 or 10.4? 
If so you can do:

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties python g++ make
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chris-lea/node.js
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nodejs
