Right, because as Ryan mentioned, a tarball isn't a tar file, it's a
.tar.gz file. You need something like:
.pipe(zlib.Unzip())
.pipe( tar.Extract( { path: __dirname + '/extract' } ) )
(with the requisite error handling, of course).
