I just went through this.  Phantomjs will get you a beautiful image, but 
it's full-sized.  You'll also need to install the imageMagick or 
graphicsMagick binary with a suitable node wrapper to resize the images to 
thumbnail size.  Also, the phantomJs build hasn't been ported to smartOs 
yet, so you'll need to run a separate ubutu instance if you're hosting at 
joyent.  There are lots of services out there too.  We did a little 
bake-off and picked http://www.url2png.com.
