That sounds like a reasonable start. Perhaps a "prune": [] entry in the package
info with a default value of ["doc", "example", "test"]. The key would allow
for a reasonable start using convention over configuration, with the ability to
tailor it for specific projects. Could it be expanded to allow for removing
individual files like the Makefile in Tim's example?
