Hi Adam, you might want to take a look at bugger [1]. I've been using it for a few weeks with the inspector in the latest version of Chrome and it works like a charm. I believe it uses the Chrome debugging protocol which you mentioned. I put Jan (its creator) in CC, perhaps you might have a chat.
