Kindly consider the following test script:
var array = ['foo','bar','baz'];
console.log("sequential run");
console.log("--------------");
for (var i in array) {
var item = array[i];
console.log(item);
}
console.log(" ");
console.log("delayed run");
console.log("--------------");
for (var i=0; i < array.length; i++) {
var item = array[i];
setTimeout(function() {
var privateItem = item;
console.log(privateItem);
}, 1000*i);
}
When you run it, the output is:
sequential run
--------------
foo
bar
baz
delayed run
--------------
baz
baz
baz
Why is privateItem changing?
What can I do to work around this problem?
