Isn't the promise interface already a proposal for es6 ? The combination of 
generators & promises is really impressive, as Raynos showed in his 
example. And both will become a standard. There is a deferred-function 
strawman, too. In my option the callback mess still is one of the biggest 
drawbacks of node.js. Green threads/fibers/coroutines are already standards 
in other languages, and the most important building blocks for this 
interface will most likely be standardized in es6 (promises, gens).
