FWIW, I recommend installing the 32-bit version of node on Windows unless there is a real need for the 64-bit version. Eventually (or quite soon, if you start using a lot of modules that depend on other modules) you'll want to use/install native modules and there are fewer prerequisites for this<https://github.com/TooTallNate/node-gyp#installation> for 32-bit (64-bit requires the Windows 7 64-bit SDK, in addition to the other requirements).
