Hi all, I would like to introduce you to Cozy a personal PaaS that you can hack, host and delete. Its purpose is to allow every one to deploy his personal web applications and his data on his webserver. This way, users will be able to take back control on their digital life and take out the maximum from their data. The code of this platform is made of Node.js modules and allows to deploy Node.js personal web applications.
Every app share the same data store. So, the applications can interact each other. It brings new capabilities for developers who can reuse personal data brought by other applications. For instance, you can reuse the contact informations brought by the Contacts application. We applied the smartphone paradigm to the server. Moreover, once the app is written it's super easy to distribute it, because the developer only need to share a simple git url to other users who can install the new application on their Cozy once they receive it. Among the existing applications you will find a calendar manager, a music player, a caldav/cardav server, a note manager... Today, we published our first release, so we would be glad to hear your feedbacks as Node.js developers.
