If someone else also have strange hanging problems - seems like it was caused by official Amazon AWS S3 library for Node.js - at the end I was able to repeat it locally after hitting local server with heavy benchmark.
Don't know the reason though, I just switched to another library https://github.com/LearnBoost/knox - all works.
