Nope. This is my actual code:

https.globalAgent.options.ca = https.globalAgent.options.ca || [];
https.globalAgent.options.ca =
https.globalAgent.options.ca.concat(lesserKnownCas);

It starts out as undefined, which is why it's very odd to me that defining
it kills it.
