I am looking for someone that can help debug the MyTurn server, which is coded in JavaScript. The immediate objective is to install the server code on a Mac running OS X. The configuration is to be used locally via WiFi.
One alternative installation platform is the Raspberry Pi running Linux. This alternative platform could be taken as an independent job or in connection with the debugging of the server. Any similar platform would be acceptable. The local server will support debugging of the MyTurn client. Familiarity with Sencha Touch is required for the client side work. The server and client code is on GitHub: https://github.com/yishayw/MyTurn You may also need to handle cross domain issues with socket.io as explained here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10007740/how-to-solve-socket-io-0-9-cross-domain Please request the apk, which has been used for testing, and its source, if you have any interest. Alternative approaches to achieving our objectives will also be considered. Please check with me, if you feel you have a simpler solution that we should consider. Compensation will be spit between task completion and the completion of six months of debugging support. All the tasks can be taken by one person, or we can split it up. So, let me know whether you are interested in the server, the client, and/or hardware. Bids should be submitted by April 2, 2014. MyTurn is an open-source project. I also forward the announcement for MyTurn. dss David Stodolsky, PhD Institute for Social Informatics Tornskadestien 2, st. th., DK-2400 Copenhagen NV, Denmark [email protected] Skype/Twitter: davidstodolsky Blog: http://cosmism.blogspot.com Begin forwarded message: Subject: Facilitation software increases Collective Intelligence MyTurn - The Internet Talking Stick MyTurn App beta release information: The MyTurn App has been released for Android devices (HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy, etc.) and is available in the Google Play Store. The App for iOS devices (iPad, iTouch, iPhone) is available in the Apple App Store. MyTurn can also be run in a WebKit-based Web browser: https://github.com/yishayw/MyTurn/wiki/Requirements Many procedures for allocation of turns to speakers have been advocated. MyTurn resolves conflicting requests to speak in favor of the person who has spoken the least. Our motto: Protect, Promote, Perform Protect the speaker: Inappropriate requests to speak are never revealed. (There are several other protective functions). Promote participation: Participation is balanced through application of an Equal-time Resolution Rule. (This is a key feature.) Perform: Performance of groups using the Equal-time Resolution Rule is superior. (This is a published experimental result.)
