FFI surfaces a rather raw API to the library, as I understand it. A mistake with it will crash node. Errors with JS are supposed to throw exceptions!
lode lets you craft an API suitable to Node and the lib in question, using a mix of JS and C++. Mistakes can only crash the lode shell process.
