I recently moved to Silicon Valley but I grew up in KC and I can say that is a really affordable and high quality place to live. If your Node shop is paying anything close to what JS engineers are getting here in the valley, I'd say there's a lot of value to living in the mid-west instead of paying $3k/mo for a 1BR apt in Palo Alto. The down side is that you won't be submersed in the same kind of techie culture (and there's nowhere to charge your Tesla : )
Anyway, awesome to see this kind of thing coming out of KC!
