Node has been in EPEL 7 since March.

Here's a 0.10.28 build for example:

Nobody's complained about it so far.  If you run into any trouble
please do let me know.

Nope, in my experience it works fine with Linuxes new (Arch and
Fedora) and old (RHEL5 and Debian oldstable).
