No, that'd be me, sorry. It defaults to false for unsafe-perm as root. Sorry about that. unsafe-perm is true for non-root by default, and vice versa. So to set it to unsafe-perm for root would be to allow scripts to run as root, and "just work", where "just work" can include "hose my whole system". Sorry about that!
