Hi all,

At ActiveState we have been in the open source tools and languages business
(Python, Perl, Tcl) for almost 20 years. I’m proud to say that in 2017 we
will be providing a community- and enterprise-ready Node.js distribution on
a variety of platforms, shaped in part by the feedback we receive from the
community. These will be in areas we can provide additional value above and
beyond the great community versions already available.

We also build developer tools, which are our Komodo Edit (open source) and
IDE, which has had Node.js support since 2011, and we will be continuing to
invest in improving development tools for Node.js (look for our upcoming
Yarn support). We also had a great experience using Node.js for building
out one of our previous cloud developer products, Stackato, and our team is
eager to add Node.js to the family of languages we support.

If you would like to ask any questions or provide thoughts on where we can
best help the Node.js community, feel free to respond to this thread, email
me, or sign up to our mail list (http://www.activestate.com/node) for
advanced notice of when our distribution is available. We look forward to
hearing from you!

Cheers,
-JR
