Welcome Blaine,
Bob Oakman and the Oakland Buzzards hope that you enjoy NOMBL too.
I prefer a large league AND the pitcher hitting so I'm quite happy here.

Buzzards are ready and waiting to announce the first pick of the '09 season
draft.
we're also ready to trade some outstanding rookies! ; Kevin Frandsen , Cedric
Hunter  , Beau Mills and maybe even Lars Anderson could be had for draft picks.

Everyone please welcome Blaine and FYI I am yr older than you and all the other
VA teams are about the same age as me or older (I am thinking about calling this
an old timers league). As for the computer thing don't worry about it as we
have/had several managers that had never played in league and/or computer SOMBB!

Since you brought up the 10 dollars dues for 2009 season you are correct and
now is as good as time as any to bring this up. They are due by the 31st of
Dec. 2008. Please remember that if not recd in timely manner then you will not
be given info for the draft site therefore unable to draft even in the email
part of the draft.
The address for dues is:
ROBERT WHITE
4725 Rugby Rd
Virginia Beach, Va. 23464

And guys it is time to start thinking about cuts as VA won game 5 to trail D.M.
3-2. That means that max of 2 more games and the 2008 season is completed. That
means it is time to start thinking about our cuts. I will wait for the end of
the World Series before giving a deadline as that will give PNY time to get to
know his team and the waiting period to expire in case he is interested in
trading players or draft picks.

The draft will start my email for first couple of rounds (SOM game orders are
being taken starting on Dec 19th!

Also for the PNY Virginia is shopping the following players:
Dave Ross C (one inquiry)and 4th on depth cart at catcher

David Eckstein inf

Josh Phelps UTL

Tadahito Iguchi 2B

Delois Guerra SP MIN

Felipe Paulino P HOU

Boof Bonser SP/RP Min (2 inquires)

Looking for a 1 thru 3 starter. I do have pitching to return and if pitcher is
a real good one maybe a Napolli or Cody Ross, Jim Thome, Vladimir
Guerrero,Tadahito Iguchi,Drew Stubbs AA rookie with Reds with shoot at making
majors this year,Jon Rauch,Daniel Cabrera, and Jeff Samardzija. All these
players on the block but some would
take top of line starter. I have tons of outfielders and even some rookies not
listed.
Others are going to have to be traded or trade draft picks.

I look forward to hearing from you,
ROBERT

P.S. D.M. I am still waiting to hear offers or ideas on that catcher and
starting pitcher we talked about over the phone. If you can give me some ideas
as to what you would be willing to give for them I can make offer or counter
offer.

ROBERT

Hi Bob,
Sorry I didn't get back sooner. Here's the basics
name: Blaine Steczkowski
address: 60 Theresa Ct., West Seneca, NY 14224-4716
occupation: letter carrier ( mailman )
born: 5-13-54
as of now I don't have IM
I have a wife, a son who is a freshman in collage and a daughter who
is a freshman in high school. I live about 10 minutes from Buffalo( where I
grew up ) and about the same distance from where the Bills play most of their
home games. Usually I attend 1 or 2 games a year. This past Sunday I watched
during a 33* drizzle quite possibly the most boring game of my life. I've
been battling the chills these last few days as most of my work is out doors in
the wonderland that is the Niagara frontier.
I started playing Strat-back in 1966 or 67 when most teams had four
man rotations and the World Series was the playoffs. It seems as though this is
a well organized and competitive league and I'm looking forward to being
part of it. I'm curious as to why the owner of the Doodlebugs would win his
division then leave the league? By the way I reinstalled the game on my computer
and downloaded the league file. I hope you all will bear with me as I'm sure
my first year will be a bit confusing I will however do my best to follow league
rules and submit all files on time. From time to time I'm drawn away from my
computer and sometimes don't answer e-mails for a few days. This doesn't
mean I'm disinterested, just busy I will get to you.
                   till next time,
                     Blaine

Hi Bob,
If the Purple Doodlebugs are available I'll take them if not
then Suffolk. I may struggle somewhat with the computer side of it as my
knowledge is limited. I play in one league now and the commish is a friend who
occasionally helps me with technical stuff. I've been reading the rules
trying to get up to speed. By the way I'd like to change the team name if
possible, also as my hard drive recently crashed I won't be able to
reinstall Strat-O till next week at that time I'll download the file and see
if I want to change ballparks. Tell me where and who to send the ten dollars to.

                        Blaine
