To all in the league,
I must say I am honored and accept the challenge of taking over the Rapid City Team. It has been years since I rolled that 20 sided dice or turned over the cards.
I was introduced to Strat-o-Matic Baseball as a teenager. I grew up in a court with a neighbor that played. They needed a fourth person for the league. I was young, dumb and ready. I remember my first draft, I picked Tim Raines number 1. Not that I knew who he was, he was the top outfielder in the league at the time. I read about him in a magazine prior to the draft. I can only say playing Strat-o-Matic Baseball over the years gave me the knowledge of every player in the league and every 5 star player coming up through the minors.. It is something I have lost not playing..
I give much credit to John Arcieri and Bob Oakman. It was a 4 man league that expanded to 6. Along comes the Buzz and the Destroyers. Lets not forget about the originals who brought the league together. Erin, Bill and Ray, you brought Strato in my life and I'll never forget. Bill Levine and the Stooges will always live in our hearts.
Enough said, there is nothing like rolling the dice in person. I look forward to playing Strato on the computer in your league. With the help of John and Bob to get me up to speed it should be no problem. I just want to say thank you.
Fantasy Football is almost over. Time to play the game that brought us Fantasy Football. It is Strat-o-Matic Baseball.....
Sincerely, Ron Tyler
