Portsmouth at Suffolk Game 1: Suffolk breaks out for 8 runs in the first 2 innings and coast to an 11-6 win. Zambrano allows 6 runners before recording his first out. Garland gets his first win of the season but allows 6 runs in 6 innings. Para goes 3 for 4 with a home run. Damon, Drew and Molina also homer. Rookie McGhee knocks in 3 runs scoring 3 times. B. Ryan goes 4 for 5 with 3 RBI’s. Storm turns 4 double plays. Game 2: Red Sox rally with 2 outs in the 9th to win 4-3. C. Wilson blows the save and gets the loss as Suffolk’s Tronosco gets the lucky win. Damon & Drew each homer again. With 2 outs and no one on, Santiago singles, pinch-hitter Borbon follows with a single and Santiago goes to 3rd. McGhee at the plate, Wilson throws a wild pitch scoring Santiago. McGhee is then intentionally walked. Pagan draws a walk to load the bases. S. Choo then takes one for the team and is HBP, scoring Borbon and the winning run.
Game 3: Fans got to watch a real nail-biter of a game as 34, 595 screaming fans watch the lead change four times. Phillies favorite C. Lee is on the mound for Portsmouth to face pitching ace J. Pinero. Sox score first in bottom of 1st on a Pagan solo home run. The Storm quickly counters in the 3rd as C. Lee helps his own cause with a 2-out RBI single. Bottom of the 3rd has Suffolk take the lead on solo homers by A. Kennedy and R. Ibanez. Storm takes the lead back in 4th inning. After giving the Storm an extra out on Santiago’s error, the visitors counter with 3 straight hits and a walk for 3 runs. Bottom of the 5th has Sox A.J. Pierzynsk hit a 4th home run this game off of C. Lee and tying the score. No more scoring occurs with these guys on the mound. Coach has Lee on a 90-ball pitch count and is pulled in the 8th. Pinero follows suit and gets yanked in the 9th. Bottom of the 9th, C. J. Wilson is called to the mound again. Ibanez gets a leadoff single. Borbon is put in as pinch runner and steals second base. Choo strike outs but M. Prado follows with the RBI single to make a winner of the home team 5-4. Game 4: Its early scoring again as Portsmouth jumps out to a 6-1 lead. AJ Burnett allows 16 base runners in 4 innings. The big moment was the 4th innings as Storm reaches base safely 8 consecutive times. Only a caught stealing and DP saves the team from anymore heartache. In a senior moment, Joe allows reliever Outman to hit for Burnett. Rookie Greinke pitches great, striking out 9 with just one walk. Sox try a comeback but the bats are cold. Storm scores another run on L. Scott solo homer. Scott finishes 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s.
