May 1: Suffolk pitcher J. Garlan pitched a complete versus the Tides winning 7-2. Tides D. Lee knocked in the only 2 runs on a homer in the 1st inning, other than that it was all Red Sox. N. Johnson was credited with 3 RBI going 3 for 4. Garland threw 145 pitches raising his record to 3-3. May 10: Suffolk rally in the bottom of 10th inning to defeat Howard 6-5. It was a nail-biter most of the game as the lead changed hands five times. Suffolk struck first with a 2-run 1st on a pair of G. Floyd wild pitches. Hurricanes counters in the 4th with 3 runs highlighted by Longoria’s homerun. Suffolk returned the favor with 2-run in their half on a couple of run scoring singles only to be tied next inning on Teixeira RBI single. It was quite thru the end o f the regular nine until Hanigan’s RBI single in the 10th. Howard goes to reliever Brian Wilson who doesn’t record an out allowing 5 straight base runners, the winning run on J. Bakers bases loaded single. R. Franklin got the win. May 11: Red Sox jump out for a 3-run lead off of E. Jackson but after Suffolk starter J. Outman pulls a hammy running the bases on a pop-fly, the Sox bullpen falls apart. The pen allows 8 runs in 6 innings ultimately losing 8-4. Teixeira goes 2 for 3 with 4 RBI’s, including his 15th homerun. Howard’s Jackson coast 7 innings for his 6th win. May 12: With a depleted bullpen, Suffolk needed a good game from starter J. Pinero. It doesn’t look good as the home team spots the visitor an early 3 run lead. Slowly, Suffolk clawed back highlighted by a 5-hit attack off of Howard starter Arroyo. With Pinero at his limit, Sox turn the game over to a tired staff that holds them to 2 hits over the last 3 innings. Franklin closes the door for his 4th save. Sox win 5-3. Longoria goes 2 for 4 with an RBI. May 13: Hurricane gets to Sox Starter A. Burnett early with Teixeira’s 16th home run and 5 straight hits in the 4th inning. Howard pounded out 15 hits; Abreu went 3 for 4 scoring twice. Cueto got a complete game for his 5th win. Burnett had a balk, WP and Pierzyanski had a passed ball. Howard wins 6-4. May 22: In an exciting game, Highlanders hold off Suffolk to win 6-5. Sox had 4-2 lead compliments to McGehee 3-run homer (5th). Highlander took the lead for good in the 8th when Sox reliever Feliciano coughs up a tater to Suzuki and Pujols. In the e9th, the Sox could only muster one run. Ches Lopez went 3 for4. Medlen got the save. Feliciano was charged for his 1st blown save and 1st loss. May 23: A. Pujols went 3 for 5 with his 10th home run but it wasn’t enough beat the Sox as Suffolk prevailed 6-4. Coo-Coo Shin went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI to help D. Wheeler for his 3rd win in relief. Ellsbury stole 2 bases (13th) and Medlen got charged with the loss. May 24: Red Sox timely hitting make winners of J. Pinero, (5-2) as Suffolk defeated the Highlander 5-1. The big inning came in the 5th inning off of loser P. Hughes. A couple of walks, double single and WP was all it took to score 4 runs. Sox drew 7 walks this game but also struck out 15 times, 9 in Hughes 4+ innings of work. Pinero’s complete game witnessed only one run allowed, Pojols RBI single. May 26: In a see-saw battle, Sox overcome a persistent Rapid City team 9-5. Pounding out 15 hits, Sox finish them off in the 8th scoring 5 runs on 6 straight hits. Sox Troncoso reliever gets his 2nd win in relief. May 27: Sox starter J. Outman goes 8 innings for the 2-1 win allowing just an RBI to D. Jeter in the 1st. Sox J. Baker hit the game winning homerun in the 7th. It was his first of the year. Saints were limited to 3 hits and 3 walks. May 28: In a 14 inning battle, Saints scores 3-runs to squash the Red Sox hope for a sweep. Game was tied going into the 9th. A tired closer R. Franklin was called in the 14th only to load the bases, allow a ground-out RBI to P. Fielder and a 2-run single to C. Jones. Red Sox weakly finished the 14th stranding 2 runners. Saints Jakubaiska got his 1st win and J. Fulchino got his 1st save. Franklin got his 3rd loss.
