Second baseman Placido Polanco had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Yankee Stadium where
the mighty Chesapeake Yankees beat the floundering Geneva Cubs by the score
of 11 to 3.
 
Phil Hughes(9-8) pitched well for Chesapeake in their victory. He allowed 9
hits and 4 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.  The Chesapeake offense poured it on,
scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.  
 
Nick Blackburn(2-15) was given the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9

Kris Medlen went 6 solid innings and Mike Stanton touched them all and had 2
RBI as the spectacular Chesapeake Yankees bested the ice-cold Geneva Cubs 7
to 1 at Yankee Stadium.
 
Geneva found themselves trailing quickly as the Chesapeake bats came through
in the first inning scoring a single run using 2 hits.  Chesapeake ended up
with 15 hits for the game while Geneva had 3.  
 
Medlen(5-5) was the winner allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Aaron Cook(3-7) took
the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 11 hits and 3
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Albert Pujols slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Yankee Stadium as the
amazing Chesapeake Yankees won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the
ice-cold Geneva Cubs by the count of 11 to 10.
 
Chesapeake came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning when they scored 4 runs on 5 hits.  The critical plate appearance was
by Mike Stanton who made the crowd happy when he clubbed a two-run home run.
For the game Chesapeake out-hit Geneva 16 to 8.  
 
Santiago Casilla(5-3) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Wade
Leblanc(7-4) was the loser in relief.  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings giving up
6 hits and no walks.
 
Lou Vincent was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim
there for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans -
they kept cheering us on.  What a sweet win!'
