Barajas finally broke the tie and got North Bay on the board in the 8th with a big two run double. North Bay then tacked on 3 more in the 9th with Barajas involved again to stun the home crowd in the series opener 5-0. Javier Lopez came in and threw two shut out innings in relief of Braden and kept the Dragons bats at bay. Game #2- North Bay got off to a fast start scoring 3 runs in the top of the 1st behind 4 hits, an error and a sac fly. 3-0 smashers. The home crowd wasn't silenced for long as the Dragons come back and score 4 in the bottom half as Jim Thome hits a 3 run homer and then ARod made it back to back by going deep to give the home team a 4-3 lead after only 1 inning. The Dragons were back at it in the bottom of 2nd as Berkman took his turn hitting a two run homer. It was Dragons leading by a score of 6-3 and Guthrie hit the showers not making it out of the 2nd. The Smashers would get a run in each of the 4th, 7th, and 8th innings to tie the score at 6-6. It remained that way until the bottom of the 10th when Thome walked and Arod hit his second homer of the game a walk off to give the Dragons the 8-6 win. A lot of pitchers and alot of hitters were used by both team in this one. The series moves back to North Bay tied at 1-1. Game 3 will see King Feliz going for the Dragons and Jaime Garcia for the Smashers.
