The Chesapeake Yankees and the Des Moines Dragons locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Miller Park. The final score was the Chesapeake Yankees 4,
the Des Moines Dragons 3.
Chesapeake scored 3 runs in the decisive 3rd inning when they came up with 3
base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Mike Stanton who disappointed
the partisan crowd when he clubbed a three-run home run. Des Moines
threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
The victory went to Tommy Hanson(2-0) who went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs.
Andrew Bailey earned the save, his 2nd. Felix Hernandez(0-2) was given the
loss. He pitched 7 innings giving up 7 hits and 3 walks.
