i had no overuse either, a road team did not use my computer manager and caused players to be used that were not on the roster for the month. also i notice you wrote ABs versus what we use- plate appearances.
this was reported to robert. and proper docs shown indicating mistake so, brandt, your research has some holes in it. facts are road teams make mistakes that are out of control for home team. in month of sept i had only 3 home games and one road manager did not use my CM. i have never overused a player in 50 years of strato it is good thought to reward those that do not overuse but a sandwich round after first round is too much of a reward, maybe after the third round. and what about road managers who cause overuse by not using my proper CM. I am sure future examinations and rule proposals from robert and brandt and others will continue to move us towards resolving these issues. usually no overuse in leagues that net play. using games played and not plate appearances for use standards makes it easier to stop overuse. allowing starting pitchers to start same number of games they started in mlb makes it easier to not overuse. relievers are toughest, easier to give RP only a 110% usage. These are time tested rules that have worked in other leagues for decades. It does take some work to make sure we do not overuse. i am in favor of reward or punishment that equals the crime. i do not think any overuse affected the final standings. have an extra pick after 1st round can affect final standings. maybe after the 5th round? I am sure you guys will work things out. again, i did not overuse my team in 2011. how can we make sure people use right CM to prevent overuse? road managers that do not use the correct CMs probably should not be rewarded either. ray bkn -----Original Message----- From: heartstringsjh <[email protected]> To: nombl <[email protected]> Cc: jhoward2 <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, Jan 9, 2012 7:50 pm Subject: Re: overusage / NCR results from last year This would indicate that I overused players - I went back to see if I had. the most recent season stat file I had was 9/22 and it showed stats 156 games (missing 6 games - and I had no overusage at that point. I had only 8 home games in my last 40 games of the season - so any overusage created in the last 6 games would have come on the road. No complaints - just stating a fact. It was out of my control. If a player was overused less than a full inning or AB I did not mark it down (for example .1 ip over) The results are: 9 teams had zero over usage: Norfolk, Buffalo, Tidewater, Suffolk, Dublin, Newton, Des Moines, Oakland, Virginia (Fiji and North Bay barely missed by having only 1 player over with less than 2 ab/ip over.) 4 teams had player/s between 1 - 4 ab/ip over usage 7 out of 20 teams had overused player/s between 5 - 22 ab/ip over including 3 players that where over by at least 20 ab/ip. Of the 9 teams that had zero over usage 4 of them had all 6 NCR's Of the 4 teams wit 1-4 over usage 1 of them had 6 NCR's and Of the 7 teams that had over usage only 2 had all 6 NCR's What does it all mean? I have no idea. I did notice that Fiji, Norfolk and Buffalo who own the 2,3,4 spots in the draft all have 6 NCR's and have no problem managing over usage. I still think we should do a sandwich draft between the 1rst and 2nd round for all teams with 0-4 ab/ip over usage. There should be some kind of reward, punishment when a third of the league is breaking the rule. I don't think it should go into affect until the 2013 draft and every new manager (like Tracy this year) that enters in the offseason should be put in it regardless. I'm not sending out my detailed results to respect the privacy of how much certain teams went over. Its not my place in the league to point negative fingers at teams. If you want to know its not to hard to look it up. Brandt -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NOMBL" group.
