I haven't got around to cutting draft picks yet but I will start now. Thanks
for sending this email for both your errors as I kept missing this trade. I am
asking EVERYONE to please do the same (big time saver for me). Sorry guys I
hate doing this way as I like to research every error that comes in but just so
busy now (work load tax season, correcting website errors, cut, trades, new
manager well u get the idea). Thanks to all that have pd the DUES. Jack has
suggested we use this site to draft I am hesitant as I don't think anyone has
drafted from the site but NICK has been very patent with me and always offers
to help. I have seen several comments about enjoying the site so thinking hard
about doing it. Nick has even setup a practice draft but haven't had time 2
even look @ it yet. Cost is $2 a team so probably have to up dues that much
per team as I am guessing it has to be pd at 1 time rather than per team. Mr.
Commishweb site still missing brooklyn owning newton 5th round pick from
7/30/11 trade-DONE also need to drop my 8 9 10th round pick

I don't think it is all the non playoff teams fault. The playoff teams seem
to have a better core of players with plenty of AB at each position. As with
my team I took over last year(Norfolk), I have been struggling to get good
starting players at each position because when we are able to keep 30 players.
It will take a number of years to rebuild when 30+ players are protected.
There are teams with 2-3 top starters at 1 position can sit on these player
without having to play them or play them out of position. I understand if a
emergency situation come up to play someone out of position, but a manager
played a player only rated at 3B at 4 other positions 2B, SS, LF, and RF. MLB
does use some players like this, but not like some managers use them. Thats
why there are utility players with many fielding ratings. If the cut down was
to 20 with the max NCR the manager wants to protect, then a wider range of
players will be in the draft every year. Every managers would have to be more
selective on which players they want as their core 20. My 2.

I would be curious, Robert, seems like teams who made playoffs are voting
against raising it to 8 saying it would not help the teams not making playoffs
WHILE the teams like me know otherwise who did not make playoffs. I suggest
listening to the teams that do not make playoffs on whether or not 8 NCRs would
help a non playoff team. Who can not field team with 33 players to cover
usage all season? Teams that are under AB and IP really have no excuse
considering all the playing time available from players left in draft. The
amount of NCRs available at 8 make no difference. Usage problems are separate
issues. I could assemble a team each year made up of 33 players left in draft
after completed that could meet our usage requirements for season. Blaming NCRs
will not solve the problem of overusage. It is a DRAFTING problem. Drafting a
catcher with 41 ABs when you need one with 200 ABs who is available is the
problem. I would like to address usage problems as well but veiling it as an
NCR problem is wrong way to look at it. There are SIMPLE draft rules in other
leagues that could solve problem in our league, such as all usage required must
be taken in draft by end of 8th round. Anyway, I would say nothing except I saw
a trend of playoff teams almost all going against an increase in NCRs. Also, I
almost have ALL my player usage covered with my roster already of 25 players
like major leagues do. I only need to draft 3 relievers somewhere and I can
draft 9 other guys no matter how much playing time they have based on future
potential. Research has shown that it takes 4 years average for a team to
rebuild and be competitive in a healthy league our size. I am suspicious of
leagues that have same people in playoffs or first place for 10 years straight.
It does not mean something is wrong, after all there are superior players. But
all other leagues I know and have played in do not have dynasties. Do the rules
in this league favor playoff teams that are making decisions for non playoff
teams on how to rebuild? Anyway, either way, I get youth from NCRs or low
innings and AB guys because I take the time to make SURE I have playing time
covered BEFORE the draft. I just find usage problems interesting. The rules our
league have for usage are MINIMUM levels, not RECOMMENDED levels. I live to
exceed those limits. What needs to be increased is either the minimum levels of
usage or allowing players to be used at 110% of MLB. Anyway, too much talk, I
just been working so hard and will finally have a day off Monday to relax and
pick up pieces for 2012. We have a water leak and the guy can't come to fix it
till Monday. It is a trickle but nothing we can do. Whatever the NCR limits are
works for me. If I was commish (HERE COMES REASON I SHOULD NEVER HAVE ANY
DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES) After draft I would calculate usage and if a
team did NOT have enough usage I would require them to DROP an NCR and replace
him with a carded guy who gives him enough usage. If people still overuse after
starting the season with required usage on their roster which must be
maintained after trades then usage rule is too LOW!
This is not rocket science or string theory. Even Penny could figure this out.
thanksray

This is the main reason we should not increase the NC players..we need to
draft more players with IP or ABs to get through the season in
respectability.....Lou---- john arcieri <[email protected]> wrote: > My inputis
it should go up to 6 NCR since we have 41 man roster. Also have you thought
about a throw back draft. A throw back draft is the next day after the draft
you are allowed to drop 1 player and pick up 1 player that wasn't drafted.
This gives teams that are under ABs or IPs to pick up a player they need for
usage. It would be a e-mail draft first e-mail sent gets that player. It
seems like every year a few teams have not enough ABs and IPs. John > > > >
