Can you find a lrdf.pc file anywhere on your system with 'find' or 'locate'? If it exists but is in the wrong place for waf to find it you could try adding the directory it's in to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH or creating a symlink in the expected place. FWIW I've compiled non many times without a problem on Debian stable, but I haven't used Ubuntu. John
