Your local Chamber of Commerce (<http://www.mnchamber.com/about/local.cfm>) 2. Attract search engines a. Include concise descriptive paragraphs about you or your product on your homepage b. Be sure your Web developer includes a title and meta-tags for your site 3. Have good content a. This attracts repeat visitors b. Other sites will want to link to you 4. Start an online newsletter a. A great way to keep in touch with customers b. I budget about 4 hours a week for the Byte 5. Put your Web address on everything a. Receipts, billboards, yellow pages ads, T-shirts, matchbooks, back of fortune cookies, instructions sheets, tattoos, be creative... 6. Look for an opportunity to talk about your products in newsgroups found through: a. Google Groups (<http://groups.google.com>) b. Yahoo Groups (<http://groups.yahoo.com/>) 7. Send out a press release about your site (or site changes) a. Look to local media resources(<http://www.mnnews.com/>) b. Look to industry media resources 8. Use traditional resources to lure visitors a. Talk about an online coupon in a radio ad b. Put installation instructions online 9. Encourage Web sites to link to you a.
