I have an idea,

We, the CURE Members may start a signature collection drive in our respective areas (neighbourhood) - requesting the Honbl. PM and the President for a law to safeguard the victims of ragging who are often raped/gangraped by senior females and also by males (male victims).
Homosexual rape is widely prevalent in the name of ragging, as well as rape or gangrape by females on male freshers. It inflicts immense trauma to the victims, and with trauma and the dangerous "boys don't cry" concept, they have to suffer it silently.
We need a law and strict implementation of the law that will cover the general public as well.
With the signature collection drive (we may request our nearby shopkeeps to let us keep a notebook with a poster and a pen at their shops - I had got a similar proposal from a shopkeeper, who had liked our anti ragging movements very much), we may also highlight the ragging issue not only to large  number of people, but also to the lawmakers.
After collection of the signatures from our neighbouring areas, we may send the notebooks (or whatever would be used to take signatures) to CURE Central, who may forward it to the Honbl. President & PM to draw their attention.

Hi,

Ya this is really torturous.......

We have many laws in our country to protect females from sexual harasment.....but even today there is no law at least in India (as far as i know) which could protect a male from such torture. This is a lacuna. As a law student i want to correct you here at one point here. Till now there has been no such crime defined in Penal Codes as "rape done by a girl or female" .......

But sincere efforts are really needed in this direction because today this is one of the major problem faced all over the world.

Its true that media may add something to it. But you won't be able to see the naked truth in your naked eye - to witness something like that boys being made naked in front of girls...or something like that!

Nature of ragging varies from college to college & from time to time. I was ragged only mentally - in my 1st yr of M.B.B.S., but my friends from CBSE were not so much lucky as CBSE seniors had badly greeted them. However, the situation in the college had started changing towards good. But much more severe ragging do persists in many other places.
Recently I have learnt about a boy, who was a hotel management student possibly near Kolkata, and was gangraped by senior girls in his hostel!

I know many people who were brutally ragged. Even seeing some published photos in my naked eye, it was evident to my eyes, which were trained to suit a doctor, that the victim had been subjected to brutal torture.
Often medicl reports have proved that the victim had suffered "injury to private parts" - that clearly points to the sexual torture done on the victim.

If you want to read some first hand accounts, please read the same from the links provided in our homepage www.noragging. com
Our organization, CURE has many victims (as our active members - now helping others to fight ragging) who were brutally tortured in the name of ragging & who had suffered immense trauma to their bodies and to their minds...

Its true that media often adds to the news, but "When there is smoke, there is fire".

hey dont take me in negative way.see, my point is i have also read about sexual tortures and very bad kind of ragging in newspapers. i have also faced ragging in my college time,i also have many frnds in engg and medical colleges, even from those coll from where incidents were reported in media in past. they all ,even my frnds who were in first year that time told me that media people magnifies the incident by atleast 10 times and they add there own stories also. you can see chanel 7.aaj tak or any media chanel how they sensationalize the issue, so my believe is just dont believe blindly in any story shown by media until and unless you watch it by your naked eyes.

Thats true. But ragging is rampant in India. What we see is only the tip of the iceberg, many more students suffer mental and often sexual torture in the name of ragging which they are sometimes unable to bear & they commit suicide. Direct death due to ragging is also not uncommon.
Besides, what is often done in the name of ragging, when perverted seniors satisfy their sexual lust over innocent juniors, deserve strict punishment.

If the victim is a fresher in a college and suffers serious injury under mysterious circumstances or if he/she dies, the first suspicion is naturally ragging.

we cannot blindly link death of every first year student to ragging.
we should into these cases with open mind.
because some times seniors are wrongly alleged and they are punished
for doing nothing. you all must have heard that case in which senior
committed suicide bec he was wrongly picked by the police.
