http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/11/17/meh/
reports on a new interjection, "meh", which expresses
lack of interest.
I can't think of any other English word that ends
in the short-E sound. Are there?
Ah, yes: "feh" ("an exclamation of disgust, contempt, or scorn").
Are there any more?

Also, there are only a handful of English words that
end in a short-A sound: yeah, neah, weah (as in
"weah-weah-weah", a mocking crybaby sound),
and possibly beah (the sound a sheep makes).

The are no English words that end in a short-I sound.
(Are there?)

Strangely, all these words are interjections.
There's probably some deep psycholinguistic reason.
