Sorry I forget to answere regarding the filter. It should work also. You could
filter the files such in every other program. Please test:
"*.txt", "*.txt; *.cpp" or "bla*.*"
As you see, you could define more than one extension. Therefore you should only
seperate with an semicolon. Maybe I have to describe that in a help text. Don
and I tought about a own side for my plugins on Notepad++ homepage.
BTW: If you want to filter it correct, type in the filter and press enter to
take over the new. It will be listed in the combo box.
Best Regards
Jens

I dont think so. You are the first user that think about that Function List
is useless. But I will consider your suggestion.

When I preview my HTML project in a browser (FF or IE) it does not recognize
the default "saved" path as being the parent directory that contains my CSS
file. As a result every time I view my projects they have no style sheets
(styling)
and look horrible.
Is it possible to have Notepad++ recognize the path (directory) in which you
save your HTML as being the parent directory to read all files such as
CSS files?

For creating new file with diffrent default encoding style you could change
the setting in 'Preferences...->New Document'.
If you mean the encoding sometimes gets lost, this could happen. A file which
was encoded by Notepad with 'USC without BOM' could be set back to ANSI on
reopening,
because of non using USC's.

Hello,
I would like to change the shortcut DUPLICATE LINE to CTRL + ALT + UP ARROW.
But the shortcut is used by "82 Q:Mark Word or Find Reverse". This shortcut
is not editable for me.
How can I edit all of the shortcuts? I work with eclipse and the idea is to
set the same shortcuts from eclipse (e.g. duplicate line) to notepad++.
Thanks for your help.

In Windows, with most programs, holding the Alt key and pressing the space bar
invokes the restore/minimize/maximize/... menu, the one that is otherwise
accessed
by right-clicking on the window's title bar, or by either left- or
right-clicking
the icon in the title bar. (Pardon the long-winded explanation; the menu has
a name in Windows-speak, but I don't know what it's called.)
I'm pretty sure older versions of N++ behaved this way as expected, but I've
recently downloaded the newest version and this one doesn't. It just ignores
the alt-space keypress.
Now, I don't know if this is a bug, maybe it was introduced intentionally and
with a good reason. I just thought I'd bring it up and ask which it was. If
it's intentional and not going to go away, I'd have no problem using an older
version. This is a great program, and even the old versions are amazing
timesavers.
On a side note, another Windows tradition is that multiple-document programs
invoke a similar document-only menu on Alt-minus (if I'm not wrong) but I never
use that one. Then again, many tab-based multi-document programs don't do that
either.

Hello, I have been developing in flash, and currently I am working on a dynamic
flash website, eventually I ran into a common problem: The site is in spanish,
a language which makes common use of acute vowels (?????) and the "n-tilde"
(?), so I wrote text into files to load them into flash, and these special
characters didn't display very well, and caused alot of strange stuff to happen.
After weeks of investigating, going over stuff like font problems, locale
settings,
url encoding, it turns out that the best solution was to save the file as UTF-8
encoded text file. (I wasn't sure of it, but now I guess that common txt files
are encoded in many diferent ways).
The issue is that Notepad++ doesn't seem to have an option to stablish the text
file's encoding scheme (which I guess by default it is ANSI), or at least I
haven't found it. I solved the problem by using notepad for Windows XP, which
had the option, though I'll admit, I was amazed to find it there and not in
Nodepad++.
In short: I love your program, but you might wanna fix this

First I'd like to start off by saying this application is definitely the best
coding application I have worked with. The speed and features are great.
Dreamweaver is an editor I have worked with before and the ONLY thing I miss
from there is the way it handles auto-completion. When you type the "</" to
close a tag it auto completes at this point. This seems much more efficient
to me than the auto-complete when you type the closing ">" because you don't
have to skip over the closing tag when you get to it.

I use the following shortcuts:
to compile:
cmd /k javac "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)"
to execute the previously compiled code:
cmd (CURRENT_DIRECTORY) /k java "$(NAME_PART)"
