How can I remove unwanted entries from the Run menu? I created some
macros that I no longer need. Thanks.

Just downloaded v4.0 of Np++, it's looking nice. I especially like the toggle
buttons for the various dockable windows.
However, there's still a few things that could be improved (as usual :-)), and
one severe bug:
* If I start dragging one of the dockable windows, then change my mind and press
Escape to cancel the dragging, I expect the dragged window to remain in place
where it was before I started dragging. However, Notepad++ simply crashes when
I do that, losing all my hard (ahem) work.
* Another little bug is that when I close the Function list window with its
little 'X' button, the corresponding toolbar button doesn't reflect the changed
state.
* And the Hex editor doesn't work at all anymore. It does show up, but only
shows one line at a time, and displays the same information no matter which
line I select.
I'm running Windows XP SP2, 32-bits Home edition.
* As someone else already mentioned, could it be possible to stick to one font
for the UI?
Most notably, the Explorer plug-in uses MS Sans Serif all over, which is a
bitmap
font and so a) doesn't scale well, b) isn't ClearType-enabled. Please replace
that by 'Microsoft Sans Serif', which looks identical at low resolutions, but
is a full-fledged TrueType font with hints, and so scales well _and_ supports
ClearType. Or better yet, use the font specified by the user in the system
Display Settings.
The shortcut mapper also uses a different font (or at least a different font
size) than the rest of the program.
* It would also be nice if the installer didn't overwrite the NativeLang.xml
file in my %AppData% folder. Heaven would be where my NativeLang.xml was merged
with the new one... :-)

Another point on the list:
What about adding that cool auto-completion-feature of Macromedia Dreamweaver
in NP++ 4.1?
For example, when you type "<" (or "<" and few letters) a small list with
possible
html-tags appears and when you close the start-tag, the end-tag (e.g. "</table>"
automatically appears in the code. That would be great speed-up for developing
websites!
Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. This impacts my work greatly because most of the
files I work with are ASP files. I would appreciate it if this was fixed or
a way to fix was publicized as soon as possible.

same problem here. It worked when I started notepad++ for the first time after
installing V4. But now the syntax highlighting is gone.
In V3 no problem

Hi,
I'm developing a new plugin in C++Builder. First of all I have translated the
sample plugin and it seems to work, but I have a problem: when I close
Notepad++,
it generates an exception. I see it only when I run the plugin from the compiler
to debug my code, not when I run it in a "stand alone" mode.
My question: I suspect that the problem is in the calling convention of some
function. Con you confirm this? Can you run n++ in debug mode and tell me if
you can see on close an exception in a line of code in n++? or you can see only
a generic exception like "Access violation ..." ? Or may be you don't see any
exception?
OK! I know! Ofcorse you have to watch my plugin and/or my code BEFORE you can
tell anything: how can I send them to you?
I hope you are interested in my little problem, so I thank you by now.
Fabio

This morning I tried opening Notepad++4 again but this time no popup messages.
However, I do remember putting in a Lexar USB stick/drive to refer to some files
then the popups started everytime Notepad++ was launched and Explorer plugin
was activated.
SO I put in my USB stick and the popups started occurring.
So it's related to some USB thing and Notepad++ Explorer plugin?
Jens - I'm sending you an email.

what about QuickText? > http://sourceforge.net/projects/quicktext/

I dont want to implement this, because this feature has a different meaning
to the current implementation. Currently you have to double click. Hovering
with underlined blue, green or whatever - depending on your windows style -
means one click hyperlink.
Best Regards
Jens

You make a good point. How about making the text grey a little but no underline?

Another one I would like to see:
I usually run Notepad++ maximized to cover both my monitors (UltraMon is a good
tool for doing this, if anyone else is interested) so that I can edit the same
file on both screens in different places. This is actually the main reason
I first switched to Notepad++ (I wanted a text editor that could do this), and
it is an extremely handy feature. What I would like added is a change to the
window placement when you open up a sub-window, like find. By default, the
find window is centered on the Notepad++ window, which means it is split between
both monitors when running the way I described. This isn't a big deal, since
once you drag it elsewhere once, it stays there (until you close N++, anyway),
but I would still like to see it center on a single monitor if possible.
Thanks again for the great editor Don ;).
