Hmmm.. Could be useful, i would like to see that. Sure you can press ctrl+space
or whatever, but it would still be better if it suggested automatically.

Hello,
I'm web Java developer. I use Notepad++ and think that it can be improved.
1. Support JSP language. In one JSP-file can be HTML tags, JavaScript, Custom
Tags, JSTL tags (for example <c:out value="${value}" />), Struts tags, Spring
tags ...
2. Can I open 100Mb file in Notepad++, for example, SQL-file to editing?

I think it would be nice if it showed in the titlebar, although it isn't really
necessary. The tabs aren't a problem, I can clearly see which tabs I've
modified,
which is what makes the title bar thing pretty piontless.

Can't you just check that box in installation? I have a feeling its got an
option
like "Use %APPDATA% Directory", or something along those lines, and I have a
feeling it mentions to check it if installing to a USB Drive. Have a look and
tell me if it helps :)

Hi there,
since I upgraded notepad++ from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2, the XML pretty print mis-indents
my XML like:
<x>
<y>
</y>
</x> <!-- this should be on the left -->
<x>
</x>
Regards,
Andre

Oops. The forum eats whitespace...so I'll use periods instead. Think of the
periods as whitespace.

Order problems are only known on W2K systems. Do you use this OS? If not, update
at first to version 4.0.1 and report your result. If yes, contact me via eMail.
I would like to send you a new version for testing, if folder tree is now in
order.
Best Regards
Jens

Yeah, that would be a great feature - I would like to see that especially for
html/css and php. It would be a great assistance when creating websites and
so on.

Yeah, right...
When I rename a file outside NP++, NP++ simply says the file doesn't exist
anymore
and asks if I want to keep the file in the editor...
Of course, the file STILL exists, it just has got another name.
I would like NP++ to recognize this and ask if the file is to be renamed in
NP++, too.
If I would choose not to rename the file, it should be marked somewhere simply
as a new file or a file that has changes and still has to be saved, even if
the file itself may not have changed since it was opened.

Hi, and thank you for this marvelous software ( I mean Notepad++ )
I use install it on each new computer I must work on, and it's improving
everytime
!
BUT ....
I also used before a softwre called UltraEdit. And this editor allow the user
to switch to "column mode". In this mode, all the selections and the
replacements
are made by column. It means that when you select a text from line 2, character
3 to line 10 character 4, the seclected text is not "all the line between 2
and 3" but the "third character of line 2 to 10". Then, when you type an "a",
all these "third character" are changed into "a"
The second fonction to add, is I think very easy : check the extension of the
openned file and guess the language for syntaxe coloration. I'm sure that 95%
of file ending by .html are to be html colored ...
Thank you again for this marvelous software.
Thierry

Hello,
I have got some trouble with the toolbar of NP++ 4.0.1
In detail:
I have two monitors and my Desktop is expanded on the secund monitor.
Somtimes the toolbar of my MP++ disappears. I can not say exactly under which
conditions this happens unfortunately but it happens often. If I resize the
window the toolbar reappears. If the toolbar is not present and I close the
window the setting of the toolbar has changed permanently and I have to change
the settings to get the toolbar displayed. Is it possible that the extendended
desktop is the reason for this problem?
Furthermore I use the tool VirtuaWin which can switch between virtual desktops.
The toolbar deiappears often if I switch between different desktops but not
always. No other program has these problems.
Thanks for help
Sebastian

I'm sorry, but it is not the same thing having alt+f4 to close with a warning
and esc to close it immediately. And it is up to the user if NP++ closes
accidentally
because both alternatives would be available, with esc being an option.
I find myself many times having a quick peek at a file, but then, sometimes
I edit a file and need to save it when exiting. hence both options.
