A long time ago i used to use ms-QuickBasic. The QB editor had a feature that
would create a separate window tab for each subroutine or function from the
file you were working on. Is there a way to do this in N++?

I really enjoy notepad++ - but it has some near critical bugs at least for me,
which need attention. So my wish is please just fix these for 4.1 and I'd be
very happy.

Please please can you fix the issues when using version control systems with
notepad++

Really strange things can happen, like edit buffers that are read only, that
you can type in and don't get saved, and files which don't reload properly when
changed on disk. This makes it quite difficult and scary to work with.

This is such a shame - becuase appart from this it's a really good editor, with
some excellent features, so good I want to put up with faults...

Notepad++ is an excellent text editor. I love it. I discovered it when my uni
installed it as the default editor on our student laptops.

A few minor requests:
First, a darker/hi-contrast theme. I painstakingly set "global styles" to use
all black, but I despaired after realizing I'd have to do the same for C, C++,
SQL, and any other language I use. By darker theme, I mean a black background
with white text, which is much easier on the eyes IMHO.

Second, documentation. NP++ has a lot of very powerful features. I don't know
how to use them all. There is an FAQ online, but this fails me when I
- try to use advanced features, like Macros
- am offline (not all of us have 24/7 internet access!)

I'm willing to help on documentation. It's grunt work, requires little technical
understanding of innard workings of a program, and even less intelligence. In
short, I'm perfect for it. And also I have a 3 week break coming up.

Hi

It is a very good idea to add a spell checker in notepad++ so thanks for your
job. Nevertheless nevertheless notepad++ is a text editor to write source code,
so it could be very good to be able check spelling only in comment part of the
code.

It could be great too to be able to underline spell error as the today tools
do.

Thanks for your job

Notapad++ remembers the screen size and position when it was opened and uses
that on subsequent sessions. This is a good feature but it is not implemented
completely for setups with changing multi-monitor setups.
This makes itself apparent when you edit for instance on a multi-monitor setup
such as when I in my office with my notebook and have placed the notepad++
window
on the secondary screen. When on the road I only have the built in display and
when I open a new notepad++ session the window is placed outside of the visible
area. You can click in the taskbar to maximize the window to get to it but to
make notepad++ start up on the primary display one has to go to the directory
and delete the last used pos in the XML ini file.

When opening a new window, notepad++ should check the last remembered pos and
size to at least intersect some of its top-right or top-left area with the valid
desktop area. This can be a bit tricky depending on what Windows versions needs
to be supported since older Windows versions such as 95 did not have a multi
monitor API. But there is sample code in the Windows SDK how to dynamically
link to the multi-monitor API to enumerate the different desktop rectangles
that a multi-monitor setup can consist of and that simply returns a single
desktop
for non-supported platforms.

i use traditional chinese windows. and i have some text documents which are
written by dos editor(most of them are). the problem is that some odd-looking
symbols will be translate into chinese charters(i guess that's extended
ASCII)when
i use the windows editor. this force me to use dos editor to read them. so i
wonder if i can use this stuff to read them?
