Hi there!
I've tried to send a simple message, but there is no place to do it (unless
you're a registered user). I just wanna call your attention that there is
probably
a bug on opening READ ONLY and UPPER CASE files (the extensions are indifferent
in this respect). I'm using winXP and Notepad++ v.3.9.

In PHP it is allowed to have a variable that is surrounded by braces in a double
quoted ("") string like this:
$qry = "This is {$_GET['myname']} String";
I was wondering if it is possible to highlight the {$_GET['myname']}
Differently?
Currently it defaults as black.
Also what exactly is the STRING VARIABLE style? I make changes to it but I do
not see any color changes in my PHP Code.

Please, resize the User Define Dialog!
I use Notepad++ on a 1152x864 screen (that is over the standard used by people),
but I see that the User Define Dialog continue under the screen bottom (I don't
know how much and what options I cannot view).

Hi!
I've downloaded notepad++ and i really like it, however, i found a small,
annoying
bug in it.
In Total Commander settings, i have notepad++.exe set as default text editor.
1. Let's say i create a new file in Total Commander with shift+F4: d:\file.txt
2. now notepad++ starts with this file in the view (and no other files)
3. I edit my file, then close notepad++.
4. Then i make a new file with shift+F4 in TC: d:\dir\otherfile.txt
5. now notepad++ starts, and asks if i want it to create the file
'd:\otherfile.txt'
because it does not exist.
I use Windows XP SP2, Total Commander 6.51, Notepad++ v4.0.2
Please fix this!

The word "god" is not a name. It is the description of a position, albeit an
insufficient and pejorative description of a very powerful position.
Firstly, there is a difference between "g~~ damn" and "damn g~~".
Just as there is a syntactic difference between "g~~ condemned" and "condemned
g~~". In fact, saying "g~~ damn" would be giving an honoured position to being
a judge capable of damning an undesirable exception. Whereas, saying "damn g~~"
would be otherwise. I believe that an inspection on the Aramaic and Greek texts
of your religious sacraments may reveal that the phrase "woe be unto you ..."
is a phrase of equal tenacity and offensiveness.
Secondly, I wish to submit to Mr Don a bug report where "g~~ damn exception"
should be grammatically corrected to "g~~ damned exception" as the past
participle
is the proper adjective because the present tense is seldom usable as a
participle.
I am quite displeased with this usage - for example most American software
contracts
would say, "This software shall not be reproduced without the express permission
of ..." when it should be "... expressed permission ...".
Finally, my understanding would not encourage displaying the word for "g~~"
any where. I personally do not agree with using "g~~ damn exception". But who
am I to say, because other religions proudly declare their names for "g~~"
openly
like "Buddha" and "Krishna". However, some adherents my beliefs find calling
"g~~" a pejorative because that word insufficiently describes the position
of the almighty. For this reason, they find it offensive when some people insist
on putting the word "g~~" in the pledge of allegiance and in government
buildings
funded by our tax dollars. And those same people who insist on offending us
complain of being offended when they hear the term "g~~ damned".

This plugin is great!
Maybe it's an error in judgment but I have recently taken to using "My Network
Places" as opposed to mapping tons of drives to all the servers I am accessing.
I may be doing something wrong but I cannot get it to list files using this
service.
It also behaves strangely when I set a favorite using an UNC path too. If I
set a shortcut to something like \\myserver\myshare\myfile.htm it'll save to
the list but when I double click the shortcut it doesn't load and the plugin
switches over to the Explorer tab.

I think you are facing an issue common to usage of any text editing across unix
and MS Windows.
An ancient number of years ago I had been editing csh files in vi natively on
a solaris box. The csh files then ran fine.
Then a technological itch had me edit the files using a MS Windows text editor
from my PC thro Hummingbird PC-NFS. After that I found that my csh files were
encountering errors. Then I inspected the csh files using dtpad on solaris ~
still no problems found. Until it occurred to me that I should get back to using
good ol vi which revealed the extra ctrl-M chars at the end of each line.
One would think that CS schools by now should warn their students about the
phenomenon and history behind the differences between unix and microsoft way
of terminating a line. I guess some professors deliberately leave it to their
students to discover the horror by themselves. That's the real culprit.
