sorting of what? this could be done by external script - all we need from
notepad++
is to hande better external tools - linke in programmers notepad 2 - that is
a great example of the best implemented external tools feature

Would you also prefix MRU files in the history with an index number which will
be the hotkey in the menu, please? This goes for index numbers less than or
equal to 10. The hotkey for the 10th file could be the 0.

So if some of you are saying, an editor is an editor, I think the File->Open
menu should be removed. If you need to edit something, open it from a third
party app. NPP should not be in the file system browsing business.
I think we can all see how ridiculous that statement was.
I love NPP so far, except for lacking this one particular feature. (A killer
for me)
I can understand a project having a direction it wishes to grow in, but a
feature
such as this should not just get the old brush off because some don't use it
or can't see the need. An editor can have all the most useful features in the
world, but if is unable to get/open the file I need to edit, it is useless.
The ability to open a file, any file, anywhere, is huge.
I have no idea how to do it, but I really need this feature. For my use is
mostly remote editing of files on any number and type of "headless" systems.
I rarely have the luxury of having direct access to a keyboard and monitor on
these systems. I currently use UltraEdit as it provides for this, but the cost
of upgrading is starting to be to much for me.
So, I will study the plugin system and make an attempt at something that will
use sftp to get/put files remotely. Maybe a wrapper type thing for "putty"??
No promises, no time frame, I have no idea what I'm doing(with this system),
or how much time I can devote. But I'll look.

First of off thanks for the great text editor, but there is one feature i would
like to request for. "Run In Opera" would be great, or something that would
allow you to execute what ever browser you choose. I know this maybe be
impossible
but its just a request thanks in advance.

Haha, Notepad++ is a greater text editor than you seem to think, since what
you're asking for is already possible:
Under the "Run" menu, click "Run..." and enter the path of Opera.exe on your
system, followed by "(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)" (including the quotes!). So that
could be:
"C:\Program Files\Opera\Opera.exe" "(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)"
Then click on 'Save...', enter the description 'Open in &Opera', assign it any
shortcut you want, and click the OK button.
After restarting Notepad++, you'll see the option 'Open in Opera' under your
Run menu, which if you click it, will open the current document in Opera.

Hello people,
I've tried various options to get folding to work on this bit of ASN.1 but
I can't get { or } to work as BeginBlock or EndBlock, respectively, when
next to a token (as below). [snippet from ULP-Components ASN.1 from the RRLP
spec].
SetSessionID ::= SEQUENCE {sessionId INTEGER(0..65535),
setId SETId}
I've tried including them as operators but that just makes them fail to
mark blocks elsewhere.
If I choose 'C' as a language I get the folding correctly. I tried downloading
the awk user defined language but that had the same problems I'm seeing with my
own definitions.
Am I doing something stupid?
Thanks,
Graham

Oops!
I forgot to include the $ dollar sign -- all the variables have the form of
$(...).
So the command line should be:
"C:\Program Files\Opera\Opera.exe" "$(FULL_CURRENT_PATH)"
Apologies!

No need to restart Notepad++, it's not MS Windows :)

Hi Don,
Are you sure about that?
'Cause on my computer, it doesn't work until I've restarted Npp... (I'm running
v4.0.2)
Thanks,
Martijn
