Create a long line of text (300 chars or more) and add a carriage return to
the end. Select all and copy, then restart Notepad++.

In the new file, paste the text you just copied. The text pastes in okay, but
the horizontal scrollbar doesn't resize itself accordingly. If you scroll it
to the far right, you don't actually get to see the end of the line you pasted.
Clicking on the line and using the cursor keys reveals more text, hitting 'end'
will move you to the end of the line and properly resize the horizontal scroll
bar. Once you've done this once, all subsequent windows will have the same sized
horizontal scroll bar until you restart the program.

Quite annoying if you're copy/pasting XML into Notepad++ from somewhere else,
which is how I noticed it. :-)

Great work on the editor, btw - thanks!

Yes! I want to disable it also.
I think it should be an option, but not compulsory.

Would it be possible to add the WM_ACTIVATEAPP to the list of messages forwarded
to plugins for processing?
I would like to create a plugin to automatically save the open buffers upon
NP++ loosing focus in favor of another application.
Thanks.

I found the the custom highlighting to be adequate for most languages. I for
one work with a proprietary language based on swift forth. I simply rolled
my own module in scintilla.

You night want to consider this option as the code is pretty easy to figure
out and with all the samples, there is very little that cannot be done.

It would be nice to have the ability to define Regex syntax definitions like
Vim, in addition to the simplicity of keyword lists.

The prefix flag is available for a word list but often they are far to few to
waste on an entire word list. The ability to use wildcards in list items to
indicate prefixs or suffixs would be valuable.

All in all, I apologize for wasting anyones time for reading this, as it is
most relevant for Scintilla's forum. The custom highlighting works entirly
with their user defined language module.

Thanks for Notepad++ -- now I can open Unix text files on my Windows PC and
see proper line wrapping (\n vs \r\n).

Found by delicious (popular) -> wakoopa -> notepad++

En la version 4.1 se omitio la ventana del explorador de archivos, en lo
personal
es muy util, me gustaria que la incluyeran de nuevo.

I noticed a posting for a feature request for [tabs || spaces], has this been
implemented?

msg_id=3927226

I for one like the ability to switch the mode (tabs <-> spaces). The work
around
is to use the TextFX. I did convert everything to TABS, but unfortuanatly it
could not convert them back (the menu item did not work). In addition, my
prefered
TAB behavior, when nothing is selected is to insert a tab.

Lucky me I have a tcl script for this. Besides, that the TextFX tool is a
little
combersome as this feature is not under the edit menu, but trailing spaces is.
Is see the TextFX tool as somthing like script-foo in Gimp. Crimson Editor's
[Edit] menu is the best I've seen in a Xbased editor. To bad it is a dinosaur
compared to Notepad++.

Anyway, if this is not implemented I think I could roll my own and if anyone
is interested... I would certainly share it.

Textpad has a 'compare files' option in the tools menu. I found it really neat,
very useful, and quick to compare differences; no need to use an external diff
app. N++ should really look at including this functionality.
(just for the record i've stopped using textpad, i use n++ now :)
