I find Notepad++ the best source code editor after SciTe, but I would seriously
consider changing if the comment/uncomment functionality was improved. (I
comment
alot!!)
I would like to comment a line without selecting a character on the same line
I would like to control where the comment character is inserted. (At beginning
of line or at caret or start of first word...)

when im trying to select text in hebrew via notepad++ it mixes the hebrew up.
it wasnt fixed so far and I wonder if this issue is being addressed?
it is obviously not meant to be like that, makes it impossible to copy text
out of notepad++ when writing in hebrew.

Hi,
I have been using NPP++ for about 8 months. Don't you think it's about time
it conforms to 21st century conformity among programs? EVERY other program I
use uses this perceived functionality the same way. They have a default
extension
(maybe in settings or options, huh?) and if in the rare cases you don't want
that extension you can click on the drop down box and choose a different
extension.
It takes all of 15 seconds. For new users this seems to be the biggest mystery.
Because it is called NOTEPAD! Not Programmer's something or other. It gets real
old typing in .txt or .html fifty times a day. Or, copying and pasting it in.
When I started using NPP++ I saved about 20 files before I realized there was
no extension associated with the file. And you have to remember every time you
save a file. Plus, using it as a filter only is rediculous. Most programs do
both. A filter and a default extension.
From a programmer's perspective, this seems to be a fairly simple fix. If
you want to know how I will explain it. But, you seem to be a bright guy. I
am not C or C++ programmer, but have thought about learning them so I can get
rid of this annoying "feature". And, that's really saying something. Many other
applications seems to have implemented this and I see no reason that it can't
be implemented in NPP++. I have seen at least 30 requests or complaints for
this functionality and never seen a reply from any of the developer's. It seems
not to exits to them. And, it will not bloat the program. I have seen more
obscure
requests implemented in files and programming languages that I don't even
recognize.
If I am wrong in any of my assumptions please advise. But, explain it to me.
I don't except answers like: It can't be done or It takes too much to do it
or It will bloat the program. I have found these are usually cop outs.

After I opened notepad++ with pervious session's files, I select a line of text
and press "backspace", then notepad++ crashed.
But if I new a file and type some words and close that file, then I can delete
a line of text in other files.
It happens in 4.1.1 & 4.1.2.

I thought I got a e-mail saying there was an update to hex editor 0.8.3 and
Explorer 1.4. But, when I go to download them what was there was hex editor
0.8.2 and Explorer 1.3. Plus, other people are talking about them. Did I miss
something? I deleted the aforementioned e-mail.

Yeah, But nobody seems very interested in developing it...which sux. I've been
begging for this for months. This would really speed up my work flow, with all
of the nesting that goes on in code. Searching for the end tag sometimes is
a pain...
Maybe it's just a hopeless dream. :(

I have just started using ubuntu linux and you know what guys. I don't think
this is going to happen. How do I know this? Because Historically in the forums,
if Don and Jens isn't interested in it, they ignore the post or do not answer

sorry for spamming, but due to the frequent updates: what about an update
checker
for n++ in the ?-menu (besidethe new entries)
and maybe with the option to check for updates every wathever
in addition it could also check for plugin updates. yes, i really think thats
a good idea. :-)
