Is there a quicker way of removing FormFeed characters from a text file other
than selecting the first FormFeed character then Ctrl-H
Thanks

First: Thanks for this editor, which easily is the best for windows.
Second: Criticism ;-)
If you open a large file (several hundred MB or more) in Notepad++, all hell
breaks loose and you'll be forced to kill notepad++.exe in task manager. This
mostly happens by accident (I didn't really want to edit a monster file like
that, just have a quick peek), but still it can be annoying.
Any chance, N++ will learn to run in "disk-mode" for large files or refuse to
start for inputfiles > X MB?
Felix

Newbie with N++, I did not find the entry menu for "User language define system"
as shown on :
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/commun/images/ulds_global.gif
How does the dialog of the right part appear ?
Figure http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/commun/images/udl_tuto02.gif
indicates
a menu entry "Style configurator" which does not exist on my versions (3.9,
4.0.2, 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 tested).
It is surely as visible as a nose in the middle of the face, but I am lost.
Thanks for help.

Thanks, i just always forget to erase the space character again because it's
just about not visible. After a while and a couple thousand lines later i
suddenly
find it odd that the home key likes to jump to a different position than
i expected...
The auto-indention makes the additional space character almost invisible.
It's not like this was a major change or hard to code or anything. Just a menu
enable condition :P

Btw, would there be a way to alter the key-combination for redo to
Ctrl+Shift+Z?
When i press that combination (it's like that in EditPlus, Kate, and a couple
other editors i work with). I don't mind the Ctrl+Y but i would very much
appreciate
an option to customize that shortcut :)

Well, apart from the difficulties of writing a cross compilable software
foundation
and the fact that writing a standard windows-like gui window is a massivly
different
thing in linux (unless you happen to use the cross compilable Qt library), I
am very certain that there are suitable editors out there in linux-land. After
all linux is the very incarnation of an editor imho. That and of a console :P
I personally favor Kate, though i wouldn't go as far as really calling it
comparable.
In terms of additional features N++ certainly does add a lot more. But from
the general looks and feels i find it a good alternative for the most common
things.

Ok, i just looked into the code. It's _very_ system specific. Making this
compile
on a unix/x qt or gtk system is like rewriting half or more of the entire
project.
I don't have to be a mind reader regarding the programmers' reactions in this
topic to presume that there's not gonna be any linux version in the near future
:P. Stick to wine.

Yikes, chinese system!
Funny, in the japanese xp version they left the 'start' on the startbutton :)
Anyway, seems like N++ isn't adapting to font size changes very well. But unless
Don is bursting in here in a couple of seconds shouting 'I will fix this right
here and now!!', i assume it's not gonna be fixed for a while. Though it does
look ugly it doesn't really block the functionality as far as i can tell. The
thing with the window height will probably not be solvable unless with an
embedded
scrollbar maybe...

Watch that space character -> Select "Show White Space and Tab" or "Show all
characters".
Question to the programmer: will it be possible to choose a custom symbol for
white space(s)? I notice the single pixel dot has some difficulty drawing my
attention.
Redo key-combination -> Use the "Shortcut mapper" available in the Settings
menu. On line 106 and 107 you can specify key combinations for UNDO and REDO.

Thanks for the reply.
Its a workaround, but it would be nice, if the RegEx works correctly in
Notepad++
:)

I can not agree more with you Joel.
Bob, stop to whining because we own you nothing. If you need some features that
we have no time (or are not interested) to make, then make it yourself - it's
open source project.
Otherwise, just don't use it. There're a lot of comercial professional software
out there.
