I successfully installed it in Ubuntu 7.04 by moving the npp.4.1.2.Installer.exe
to wine directory I created.
Point terminal program to that directory and typing wine npp.4.1.2.Installer.exe
the program works and I can save files in my regular documents folder in Ubuntu.

Enjoy

Hi,

 I was using Textpad before I moved to Notepad++, Compare is one feature I was
using frequently to compare two files ( actually I want to compare contents
of two documntes even before they are saved, just paste text in two windows
and compare, results show up in other window).

Thanks inadvance.
Sri Hari.

I think he means like the function list plugin. In perl, these would be called
SCALARS. The enginesite editor has this. I agree, I would like to see this as
a plugin.

Hi,

I found pspad can automatically adjust the width. It takes 1-2 columns for <100
lines and 3 columns for <1000 lines.

The line number margin in Notepad++ has 5 to 6 columns and it is fixed. It takes
quite space on my notebook screen. Is there any way to adjust it?

Thanks,

Phil

I'm sorry if this has been covered already. I think it must have been but I
haven't found it in the FAQ or in the forum.

Is there a simple switch to turn the display of syntax highlighting on and off?

Also is there a simple way to disable syntax highlighting for printing?

Thanks,
Bob Helling

API list is for autocompletion. For the list (much smaller) of highlighted words
look into the file "langs.xml" (search for php inside).

You can add there more words if you like!

Actually, it's ok - I found a free windows grep tool that does the job. If
anyone
else is interested, take a look:

Please delete the file. Explorer creates a new one. If the crash still caused
I have no idea. Please send me in this case more details. In worst case: Are
you able to debug C++?

Best Regards
Jens

Try also the explorer. You can select here in tree a folder. Right click on
it and you will find "Find in Files...". It opens the Find in Files dialog with
the correct path, the file filter *.* and the current selected word.

I'm having the same problem (Win2000, N++ v4.0.2).

Double-clicking sometimes works sometimes doesn't; may be related to opening
from a Network Drive.
Closing the empty file and opening from the RUF list always works.
Right-clicking
the file in Explorer and selecting Open in N++ always works. Open With... and
selecting N++ always works.

My command line (Folder Options|File Types|Advanced|Edit Actions) is

   "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" "%1"

Maybe I need to use DDE to open it?
