I don't know why there's nobody noticing this post,
I was bothered much by this bug.

My team are handling script files usually over 1000 lines,
I have to pad the scripts as neat as possible to ensure
the readability.

But the doublestring in javascript seems failed to apply
the font name, ALWAYS.

N++ is actually a good software in anyway... but this minor
bug DO bother in my case.

I'm wondering why it wasn't fixed in the lastest versions.

Some things I would very much like to see in the next release:
- remember "ignore document end"/wrap search option. Very annoying is a never
ending "search next" using F3. Only if I look at the scroll bar can I finally
tell I have been going round for what may seem like forever. Please turn it
the other way around. If my search reaches the end of the document, make the
same message appear. Users who want wrapped search are triggered at that moment
so they can change the option. Currently, users who want the message, never
get it... Optionally, remember this setting. That would be the best thing to do.

- open documents of the session with the same language setting as they were
shown when closing NP++. This should be standard, just as the opened files
themselves
are saved (listed).

- allow renaming unsaved documents. This would be very convenient to already
name a document you're working on, which you may eventually not save at all.
Also creating a clone of an existing document is something I would like.

- (perhaps optionally) save unsaved documents to a temporary folder, as part
of the session, to open them on the next start-up. This gets rid of the need
to save documents I may not want to keep eventually. This goes for new
documents,
but also existing documents I do not yet want to overwrite, but continue to
work on later, could be stored safely this way. When NP++ opens again, the
documents
can be marked as "changed" right-away. It's not necessary, but could also be
possible, to store all undo information, until the document is finally closed.

I don't know if it's Windows' fault or Notepad++'s, but it's pretty annoying.

When I click a file associated with Notepad++, it opens fullscreen like I want
it to. But when I click another file (opening in a tab), Notepad++ resizes
somewhat.
This is boring. I want it to stay fullscreen.

Both XP Pro 32 and XP Pro 64 behave the same.

Anyone knows what is the cause of this?

I have the same problem with dual screen... A solution has already be posted
here http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4271040
The solution is "open the "config.xml" file (either in the Notepad++ install
directory or in %APPDATA%/Notepad++) in regular Notepad, change the
AppPosition's
"x" value to "0", and save. Re-open Notepad++ and it will be left-justified
on your primary screen."

Thanks Jens.

Unfortunately, it still does not work. In the Function List panel, it says "No
Functions" after I clicked the Try! button.

I forgot to mention, I m using v4.1.2.

"Trim Trailing Spaces does NOT trim trailing tab characters. "

You mean Edit/Trim Trailing Spaces? It does for me, but I'm not running the
latest version. Perhaps it was changed.

"- allow renaming unsaved documents. This would be very convenient to already
name a document you're working on, which you may eventually not save at all.
Also creating a clone of an existing document is something I would like. "

How can it have a name if you haven't saved it yet?

For cloning, do you mean creating a duplicate file or another view of the same
file? If the latter, read about multi-view -
http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/Multi-ViewHowTo

- (perhaps optionally) save unsaved documents to a temporary folder, as part
of the session, to open them on the next start-up. This gets rid of the need

I have created a folder just for temporary files and I have a scheduled task
that clears it weekly. I just save them all in there.

Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2, Chinese (Traditional chars)
Notepad++ 4.1.2, Chinese (Traditional chars)

Menu -> Custom (&T) -> Programming Languange Format -> C -> String

Now the font is (by default) undefined, just like most other fonts.
However, this uses "PMingLiU" <xi4 ming2 ti3> ???,
instead of Courier New.
I wonder how the "undefined font" is being displayed.

Thanks.

Qiyao, <lotus @ ms2.url.com.tw>
