Hi there,
I made a small and very simple plugin to quickly upload and download files from
a single FTP server. The zip archive with the DLL and a simple readme can be

(not exactly SourceForge but it does the job)
Tell me what you think about it.
This exact post is also in FTP thread, but I think its being missed since Ive
seen numerous people request it.

PS donho,I saw somewhere you mentioned notifying the plugin when notepad++ has
saved a file, could you implement that so the plugin can auto-upload? Or is
it already available?

I am using Notepad++ 4.1.2 on 64-bit Windows XP Pro. I have the - <!-- The
History of opened files list set to default 15 in the config XML file.

<History nbMaxFile="15" />
However when the program runs, the Max number history file shows to be 0 and
I cannot change it, even though the the config XML file has it as 15.
THis works perfectly on 32-bit Windows. Is this a 64-bit bug? How can I fix it?

Hi Harry,
That looks nice!
Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me: in the messages window, I see the
following:
Response (331): Password required for vor0nwe.
Response (230): User vor0nwe logged in.
Response (257): "/vor0nwe" is current directory.
But in the FTP Folders list, I only see the '/' root folder. I can't navigate
to the writeable folders which are all under /vor0nwe/...
Could you fix this?
Another issue: while connecting to the FTP server, Notepad++ doesn't respond
any more. Could you have your FTP access occur on a separate thread or
something,
to prevent it from blocking the entire app?
Also, when I try to connect to the FTP server and it times out, Notepad++ never
comes back to life...

Fine ideas all. Great reasoning, but you will not get any response or resolution
of this issue. They are stonewalling it for some unknown reason. They will not
even say "yes" this is a good idea or "no" it is not a good idea. I have tried
three times to suggest an even a more simplified solution to this "bug". They
told me I was "whining". Ever other program I have can provide this
functionality.
Why can't Notepad++? Maybe this will spur them on to accomplish littler things
that are meaningful. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a response or
resolution.

This user defined language thing seems a very nice feature. But... I see folder
open keywords always have to be paired by a folder close keyword. I guess it's
not possible to create a language specification that would allow folding for
.ini files in which sections have no other recognizable end than a separating
empty line or more securely the start (open keyword) of a new section.
Don, can you think of any way this could be allowed and implemented?
I am not sure if it would be possible to enter regular expressions as keywords
etc. I would love the ability to show any property (before the = character)
in, say, italic, and any value (after the = character) in a particular color,
or specific properties and values in a specific mark up.
Don, can you at least picture what I'm thinking of?

This is not completely correct. In MySQL, the # DOES indicate a comment. In
Just about all other SQL implementations, the # is normally an escape character.
In MSQL (Microsoft's), the # is used to specify an alias name such as:
?WHERE[ WITH(<columns>) AS #<alias_name>]
[,WITH(<columns>) AS #<alias_name>]
Pick your poison here. The correct comment characters are:
-- for single line comments
and
/* for multi-line comments
such as this*/

I know about the comment characters. I am indeed using MSQL.
I didn't realize there were multiple SQL layouts. I couldn't get that from the
single available SQL language mark up.

I just noticed the MS INI mark up language. It contains a simple "close group
on new open keyword" mechanism. How is this done? Where can I find the complete
specification (keywords, operators etc.) of the NP++ included languages?
I see MS INI is also used for .reg files. Would it in any way be possible to
create sub-folding for those? Any key now has its own separate folding. It would
be very nice if subkeys could be folded within their parent keys. Do(n) you
think this is possible?
I understand this may be tricky because the sub-folding key has to be matched
to the parent key.
I wonder if it could be possible to have some kind of normal structure, like
.ini files, with sub-folders. For example, a sub-folder is started within a
folder, if it is not separated by a blank line, otherwise it would be a new
root folder. It would be marvelous if all sub-folders including the parent
folder
could be closed by one and the same single blank line. I have some kind of a
language that has only opening keywords, ending a certain level of sub-folders
by only one single blank line.
I would also be very welcome if keywords could be specifically paired, so an
incorrect "endif" wouldn't close any other keyword like "begin". Since it is
possible to enter multiple lines in the UDL window, perhaps this could be used
to accomplish this somehow.
Is it possible to include spaces in keywords?
How is the keywords precedence order specified? I have some language keywords
are extensions of folder keywords. I can't use the prefix option, because those
folder keywords will always be shown as language keywords, not allowing folding
of the actual group...

Why isn't it possible to create/have/add custom operator symbols?
I would like to use the ? (x symbol, not the character x itself) as a separator.
How can I manage to do so?
How are numbers defined? Is this customizable? I would like certain strings
of numbers (fixed length) to be shown in their own mark up.
I would also like numbers that are part of some textual description, to be shown
in a custom mark up. These descriptions are always between operators (matching
or single). How can I realize this?

The context menu entry that is used for windows XP seems to have no effect is
Vista.
I am running x64 Vista, and have tried the manual plugin, and the one in the
installer, to no effect.
Ideas? bug? suggestions?

Good questions, I would like to see these features too.
In Asymptote "--" or ".." are operators, but I found no way to tell NP++ how
to colorize them.
