Just to make sure that you are fully aware this forum is only manned by other
AVG Free users... we don't work for Grisoft. All moderators of this forum are
volunteers and contribute their time freely.... On the AVG Free forum this is
the only way to deal with false positives....

If you suspect a file to be a false positive. Test the file at
[virusscan.jotti.org]
and if it is a false positive, archive (zip, arc, tar etc) the file using a
password and email a copy to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a brief description as well
as the password you used to archive it with.

If it is a false positive , turn off hueristic scanning for the time being.
When Grisoft adjusts the virus defintions you can turn it back on. If turning
off Hueristics still doesn't allow access to the file while testing and
emailing...
disable the resident shield temporarily.

The preference is not clear.. please define the selection with similar wording
as the event title.

To change this preference:
File Status Auto-detection disable.

(Warning labeled "Keep non existing file opened" warning should be renamed to
"File Status: Keep non..." much clearer warning message/option.

In order to stop future headaches, why not put this information with the
download
in a readme file or on the website where you download it from:

To install:

Extract, Copy XML, paste into documents and settings/user/app data/n++/

I obviously DO know about the multi-view feature -- I even referenced the 'clone
to another view' and 'go to another view' features in my original message.

what I want is exactly like the multi-view feature, but where each view is in
a separate window. multi-view is great when I am restricted to one monitor,
but when I have multiple monitors I sometimes want each view on a different
monitor.

Good idea. Acrobat Reader does this too. But have you tried the "Mark Line"
option in the find command (control+F)? When you tick it, the "Find All" button
is enabled, and if you click it then it finds every occurence and marks the
lines they're on. It's not what you described, but it means you can easily
scroll through a see which lines were marked, so it's not a bad alternative.

If you tick the "Style found token" option, it will also mark the actual text
it found.

I don't know, but have you tried the background mode option instead of line
mode? Same colour, but it might be easier to see if it's filling half
the screen.

Sorry, I obviously DIDN'T read your whole message. So you want a cloned view
in an entirely separate window, but only so that you can place on window on
the second monitor? It would be nice if -multiInst could synch like that.
Can't you just stretch the single instance across the second monitor so that
multi-view does what you want? All you lose is the ability to maximise - you
have to "maximise" it manually.

can N++'plugin do this function:

in my file i want to find all special lines which consist of some string. and
i hope the all line number is shown in the plugin "function list" display-borad.

for example:

============================================================
aaaa sdjsdhhddh avvfsdy story of mine alalsksk
...
...
...
sdewf werfhgh loith story of mine rfdssew
...
...
...
545eww2 asdwww wewq story of mine rrtt
...
=============================================================
i want to find all lines which have string "story of mine". and every line can
be shown in function list like a function.

can i do this? if can, and how?

If you disable this option, will it still be possible to notified when a file
has been changed ?

I'd find useful a new/different behaviour on the "file status auto-detection"
feature in preferences.
Sometimes I need it, and sometimes not, so it would be good (for me) if it could
be changed on a per-file basis (i.e. with a button).

Thank you a lot for the excellent work and program!
