Hi guys,
Thanks for such an awesome that I use everyday. I am also a long time
user of another sourceforge project winmerge and would love to have the two
tools bundled together (twice the joy). Winmerge has a dll but as I am just
getting into learning software I am not sure how these would work well together.
Is it possible to get the two to interact so that I can compare two tabs in
notepad++ and display differences so that I could use all the nice edit features
of notepad++ while still being able to do the compare. Also it would be great
if we could do dynamic update of the compares as we edit one file although this
might slow the system down. I am learning C++ and would love to help to make
this happen if somebody is willing to help.

p.s. if this has to be posted in the plugins forum please let me know. Was not
sure sorry.

Sincerely

Ranganathan Sridharan,

Thanks for great program.

I have installed 4.2. Is the column mode feature that same as the column
editor?
If not, where is the column mode? What would be nice is a column mode similar
to what Crimson Editor
has! I think UltraEdit may have someting simlar. I know that Crimson Editor
is not being actively
maintained, but they have a great column mode. Please make Notepad++ even
better
by improving the
column mode. Thanks.

Hi Guys,
Sorry for replying to myself but I did not know how to edit my original
comment and forgot to add one killer reason why I wanted this the most.
There is a modified text in the buffer that needs to be saved and it
is usually days before I save and since I never quit notepad++ (and even if
I do, I know notepad++ saves it) I forget what changes I made. So when it asks
for save there could be a button that would show you diffs from original file
to the text in buffer so I can decide whether to save the changes. Again I am
willing to help on this if someone can get me started. So expecting somebody
to collaborate with eagerly. Thanks.

Hi,
Column mode is enabled by holding the Alt key while selecting text if that
is what you are looking for. I know there are some problems with column mode
selection when compared to Ultraedit but in most cases it should work fine.
Hope that helps.

sincerely,
Ranganathan Sridharan

@Add new feature which backups files in a user specific directory.

That is what i was waiting for, thank you so much. There is no reason to use
any other software for me. I hope future enhancements would be as effective
and usefull as this one. I appreciate for verbose backup :))

See Jens's comments above on either deleting the current "Favorties.dat" file,
modifying it, or upgrading to Explorer v1.5.

Regards.
Greg
