Hello,

Two questions for search:

* Is there a possibility to save "Search history" (search words, replaced words,
....) from one session of Notepad++ to another? If not could you please
implement
this?

* Is there a possibility to reopen Search in files with the latest used settings
(file type and path)? If not could you please implement this?

  Thanks,

Matthieu

I would like to see an option to pick either a black background theme or the
regular white background theme.

Crimson Editor does this (actually you can pick white, gray or black). I have
created a black background for N++
http://jivebay.com/2007/06/23/no-black-backgrounds-for-editors/

so feel free to use it, I'll try to update it, since I believe I tweaked it
some more recently. Textmate on the Mac is very popular because it comes with
the black background as the default. It seems more and more editors are just
making a blinding white background for coding.

I'd like to see others here vote on this issue, because I know im not the only
one that has to re-edit their stylers.xml for each version release of Notepad++
and make sure things that changed in that file or got added wont mess up
anything
else.

Thanks.

I've been using Notepad++ for a couple of weeks and only recently have I found
out how to delete/modify macros (Settings> Shortcut Mapper> macros begin at
around 70). The only reason I actually came to this conclusion was from this
site:

http://www.seancolombo.com/?p=29

I love N++ but the macro management needs a revamp. There should be a way to
do it from the macro menu, excluding all the other shortcuts. That would have
saved me a whole lot of frustration.

Brilliant, simply brilliant...! Thank you!

:-D

I changed it slightly... I capitalized it and also removed the font name (so
it will use your default font.

<WordsStyle name="CLOSING TAG" styleID="11" fgColor="0000FF" bgColor="FFFFFF"
fontName="" fontStyle="0" fontSize="" />

Control+R should be able to do it for you. I don't understand about the hex
character. Did you have any text selected before pressing control+R? If so,
the selected text gets pasted into the search box, and the find/replace only
applies to the selected text. You can untick the Selection option to make it
apply to everything, then the "Replace & Find Again" should become available.

If you're trying to make sure that every single line ends in CR LF, just use
Format/Convert to Unix to change them all to LF, then Format/Convert to Windows
to change them all back to CR LF.

If you want to change just the LF's to something else, I'm not sure it can be
done. If you read
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/newlineFindReplace-HOWTO.php, method
1.1 allows you to select the newline before commencing find/replace. This
pastes
the newline into the search field. I'll leave it to you to see if it works
for LF. If it does it'll likely find them in the CR LF's too.

In v4.2, use Edit: Column Editor, or <Alt+C>.
Also, see http://notepad-plus.wiki.sourceforge.net/FAQ.

According to http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/regExpList.php, \\ should
work. It wouldn't surprise me if it didn't though.
