Hi,

Visual problem in Preferences dialog : http://kib2.free.fr/temp/problem_npp.png

Some suggestions :

- when opening the syntax coloring dialog and click on "More colours", the
actual
color isn't shown and is set to (0,0,0).

- some list controls shows their elements in a non alphabetical order (i.e the
print header/footer font chooser), it's very difficult to make one's choice.

- the console part doesn't wrap long lines, and we don't have any horizontal
slider to view the output in such cases. Also, I didn't find a way to change
its background color.

cheers,

Thats cool! I will have to look into the functionlist plugin further, I looked
at it some but it didn't look like it would do what I wanted. Anyone familiar
with that plugin that can give me some hints?

Hi Philippe,

unfortunately the current highlight parser cannot switch to another mode while
parsing a file.
But this is on my todo list :)

I may (stress may) have a solution for the crash. This gets technical, so you
may want to skip ahead =]. On uninitialisation, the thread responsible for
displaying
all the text output stops and starts deleting memory. However, the DllMain
function
that makes the thread stop did not wait for this to finish (for some reason
I got timeouts waiting for the thread). In some cases, the thread would end
before Notepad++ main process exits, but after FreeLibrary returns (called when
notepad closes and stops the plugins). The address space (if that says anything)
of the DLL would become invalid (I think) so all memory operations of the DLL
would give an error, thus the crash. If Notepad closes faster so the thread
has actually no time to do the memory operations, Windows would clean everything
up and everything would be sunshine and green hills :) (btw I tested this by
addign a sleep after the freelibrary in Notepad++ to enforce a delay).

I uploaded a testversion that waits for the thread to stop, could you please
test it out, its here:

http://npp-plugins.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/npp-plugins/NppPlugins/FTP_syn
chronize/build/FTP_synchronize.dll?revision=1.16

Notepad++ call FreeLibrary() to release the loaded plugins, at that moment,
you should do the clean up in the dllmain().
The problem, IMO, is there'are still undead threads even after the clean up,
that causes the crash.

If you can terminate all the threads (by using the Mutex) before you clean up,
then I think the crash problem will be cured.

I have problem changing the font for STRING style of C/C++ language. No matter
which fonts I selected (Courier New for example), the string literals in my
C/C++ source always displayed in some kind of proportional font (look like
Arial).

I have this problem since a few versions ago (including the latest v4.3 RC).

Anyone else seeing the same problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mick

Record the macros

<Ctrl-X> "<b></b>" <Left><Left><Left><Left> <Ctrl-V>

and

<Ctrl-X> "<i></i>" <Left><Left><Left><Left> <Ctrl-V>

where the text in quotes represents individual keystrokes, e.g., <, b, >, <,
/, b, >, etc. When you're finished, save the macro with a name and assign it
to your preferred shortcut.

Regards.
Greg

Have you tried TextFX Tools/Hide Lines Without Clipboard Text? That would allow
you to cut the text, then after showing all the hidden text again, paste it
where you want. Let me know if you find any instructions for this plugin, as
I have been guessing how to use it.

At the moment only version 2.0 can do this. Create for your language a new group
like "Section" and add your RegEx rules. In your case it is very easy.

Function begin: \*\*\*\s*
Function Name: \w*

All other fields stay empty.

Best Regards
Jens

No it's not your bug report. It's a problem with the dead look in version 1.5.X
;) Somebody had problems with slow network drives and tried the new version.
But on his system a crash occurs.

Best Regards
Jens

I've been using NPP for some time, and I like it. Today for no (apparent)
reason,
every keypress I made produced a character in the extended character set, with
dots and lines and carats above the a's, and o's, etc.

I never use this extra language stuff so I don't even know what it's called,
so couldn't find a solution by searching help.

Anyway, it was stuck on, like caps lock; I could not change it in NPP. Could
find no options that I might have accidentally set. All other apps worked fine.

I shut down NPP and restarted it and it was back to normal.

Is this a bug or is there something I did without knowing?

Ta all.
