The source has been available for quite some time, its at the npp-plugins
project
CVS, you can check it out if you wish, if you find that crash on exit, let me
know (that kind of priority no1).
I dont see why your system would behave differently from mine Mark, so I guess
its something else (apart from the Win2K instead of my XP Pro, although I dont
think they behave much differently).
I think of adding some try catches at some key locations see if that results
in anything

how can I make automatic Space, e.g. in a c++ programm:

Notepad++ v4.3 fixed bugs and added features (from v4.2.2) :
1. Fix the crash bug due to the corrupted configuration file (config.xml and
session.xml).
2. Fix the crash bug while the shortcut command is absent in shortcut.xml.
3. Fix the file status auto-detection bug : a unwanted selection after a
pop-up
dialog.
4. Enhance Styler Configurator : the visual effect is updated immediately while
the setting is changing.
5. Add Global override feature (in Styler Configurator).
6. Fix the bold/italic/underline refresh problem in Stylers Configurator for
Scintilla component.
7. Add hide lines feature (Menu : View->Hide lines).
8. Add new capacity (optional setting in Preferences dialog :
Backup/Auto-completion
tab) to trigger Auto-Completion(Function Completion or Word completion)
automatically

9. The set languages in session are remembered now.
10. Fix the Move down current line bug.
11. Add the start up with no plugins feature (command line : notepad++
-noPlugins).
12. Fix the display file type bug on the status bar while switching between

It's possible (and perhaps a good idea) to write your source code in Notepad++.
However, to actually compile the program into an executable (a working binary,
for example "file.exe") you will need a compiler.
That source code is C so I suggest you use a C/C++ compiler; my personal
preference
being Dev-C++ (also free :) ).

I really only know a little C++ myself. If you have trouble with that code you
could also try

Have you tried the tab switching shortcut? Press control+Tab and a list of
tabs will appear in the middle of the screen. Don't let go of the control key
yet.
Scroll to the tab you want (or click it with the mouse), then let go of the
control key.
It's no good when there are too many tabs for the height of the window.

Thanks Don, very nice.
One minor peeve - next time you make a change to the QuickText.ini file released
with Notepad++, could you please keep blocks of QuickText in the same place?
I have this file under SVN, but it was pointless using diff to merge in my old
customisations for HTML because the HTML block had moved in the file - diff
saw one big delete and one big add :(
Kudos for a great editor.

I was wondering if it would be possible to save the settings (like the colour
and font for tags and the format files are encoded in) that have been changed
in Notepad ++ in a file? This way I won't need to modify the settings every
time it is installed on a different computer.

Hi,
I would like Notepad++ to open all the files as UTF8 encoded but I don't know
how to do that. I tried editing the config.xml file and put under formatting
4 (UTF8) but still all files are opened or created as ANSI. I am sure I
am overlooking something, but can't find it! Any help would be appreciated!

It simply doesn't work.
I've downloaded both aspell 0.60.3 and aspell 0.50.3.3 for win32 and installed
them. I've put the spellchecker.dll into the 'c:\program
files\notepad++\plugins'
folder. But whenever i try to spell check, a dialog box pops up saying:
u do not have aspell / dictionaries installed
if u do have them installed, give the correct path for aspell=15.dll ... blah
blah.
doesn't matter where i put aspell
c:\aspell
or
c:\program files\aspell.
something wrong somewhere... most likely with me:)
