Hi, I'm from Israel and i don't speak usually English, so , i'm sorry if i have
any gramer mistakes.
I developing sites with PHP, and just recently discoverd this great program.
until now i was working with the zend studio program which have only one very
important advantage, the function that complete my variables from the variable
that exist in the page (in a simular way to 'code completion'), and by that
reducing the chance for mistakes
is their a plug in for notepad++ that can result this problem?

Thanks for the update Don!
I have a request to change the Hide Lines behavior. It's easiest to explain
with a concrete example.
Let's say you want to hide lines 5-7. If you highlight lines 5-7, the cursor
is left at the beginning of line 8 and lines 5-8 are hidden.
My request is that only lines that are highlighted be hidden so that you don't
include the next line that the cursor is on if it is at the beginning of the
line.

First I'd like to say that Notepad++ is a great program and I use it every day.
Now to the subject:
a)
When Notepad++ is run from Total Commander (by F4), the displayed opened
file path (and also the file name in the
tab) is in a 8.3 format:
Notepad++ - c:\PROGRA~1\NOTEPA~1\CONTEX~1.XML
CONTEX~1.XML
I guess that's what TC gives the program as an argument. Using
the GetLongPathName() function should help.
b)
Syntax highlight doesn't seem to automatically set according to a file
contents
and because sometimes I don't have
a hand on my mouse, key short-cuts for syntax highlighting would be welcome.
CTRL+SHIFT+X -> XML highlighting
c)
Another nice thing to have would be assigning given file extensions certain
syntax highliting.
.config -> XML highlighting
d)
The shortcut mapper doesn't display correctly some characters in my language
(Czech - CP1250).
Does it use unicode ?
That's all. I hope I didn't sound too rude, I just want this program to
be perfect.
And if any of that was already mentioned/solved or is already in a TODO list,
sorry for bothering you.

Hi,
I was hoping if you can provide a feature that allows viewing files under
various
encodings.
the idea is like the encoding feature under view menu in ie7.
because i m using english windows and i would like to open some files encoded
in simplified chinese or tranditional chinese characters.

It will help alot by providing such feature because for now I have to open those
text files in ie7 to display its correct encoding or to change windows setting
which requires a reboot. it is annoying.
I hope you can provide the feature in the future release. It will make notepad++
much more attractive than any other text editor.

I would love it if it worked like Firefox's search, popping up as a small
toolbar

Are you sure that's NP++, and not one of the plugins? The Explorer and Light
Explorer plugins seem to be more likely candidates.
In any case, I just tried but was unable to reproduce the results. I created
a folder and saved a file in it. I opened the file with NP++, then closed the
file. I was able to then delete the folder without problem, whether it still
had the now-closed file or whether I first deleted the file, deleting the folder
worked fine. I tried the experiment with and without plugins, and the folder
deleted without trouble both ways.
